Liz Myers

Varsity Head Coach

Coach Liz Myers has coached high school volleyball the past eight years. Coach Liz started at Bentley high, in 2017, as the JV coach then took over the following season as the Program Head. Coach Liz took her varsity team to the NCS finals her first year as a head coach. Her following year, her varsity team finished in the second round of NorCals. During the spring of 2021, Coach Liz took over as the JV coach at Las Lomas High school while assisting the varsity team. She is a graduate of Northgate High as a 3 year varsity player, as well as a collegiate player at Linfield College. Coach Liz believes in hard work and pushing yourself every day in practice while being a uplifting teammate. Coach Liz is excited to return as the Varsity Coach and continue our success this season! Go KNIGHTS!

Ben Deane

Kym De Guzman

Coach Ben has been coaching club and High School sports for many years here in the East Bay  Starting at  College Park High School in Pleasant Hill, and then  moving to  The Athenian school, first as the Women’s Junior Varsity coach and, as of 2014, the Head Women’s Varsity coach.  In 2017 Coach Ben accepted the position of Head Junior Varsity Coach, at Monte Vista High School (Danville) where he stayed through the 2019.  In 2020, Coach Ben accepted the position of Head Varsity Coach at Las Lomas High School.  In 2023 Coach Ben will be the Head JV coach, and helping Coach Liz in her transition to the Varsity Head Coach and contemplating what retirement actually looks like.

With over a decade of coaching experience at both the high school and club levels, Coach Kym De Guzman brings passion, precision, and a player-centered approach to every team she leads. Known for her ability to connect with athletes on an individual level, Coach Kym believes that every player learns differently—and she takes the time to understand those differences while holding all athletes to a consistent standard of excellence.

 

Her coaching style blends structure with adaptability, ensuring that each athlete is challenged, supported, and given the tools to grow not only as a player, but as a teammate and competitor. Whether guiding a first-year athlete or refining the skills of a seasoned player, Coach Kym is committed to building strong fundamentals, mental toughness, and a deep love for the game.
